Voting for TechPros is challenging the community to help support our local non profit organizations has CLOSED and the results are in. Congratulations to our First place winner -- the Gear Foundation! Coming in a close Second place is Hope House. And in Third place, we have Thistle Farms. Thanks to all who participated!
What's the deal?
TechPros is challenging the community to help support our local non profit organizations. We are donating $2,000 and challenging other local businesses to match our donation or give what they can. We want you to decide who gets the money.
How does it work?
Voting ends December 21, 2011 @ 12:00 A.M. Winners will be contacted and receive their donation December 22, 2011.
- 1st place winner will receive 50% of the total funds raised.
- 2nd place winner will receive 25% of the total funds raised.
- 3rd place winner will receive 10% of the total funds raised.
Remaining 15% of the total funds raised will be distributed evenly to the remaining organizations.

(click to learn more about this organization +/-)My Friend’s House Family and Children Services, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation chartered in 1982 to provide therapeutic services to children. My Friend’s House is a group home for boys operated by Williamson County Youth, Inc. which began its operation in 1988. For the next ten years My Friend’s House served the Williamson County community as an emergency shelter for youth. Initially, the facility served seven children on a daily basis, but because of space limitations was forced to turn away many others in need. In 1992, the agency purchased a larger facility and was able to double the number of children it served. On October 1, 1998, My Friend’s House became a residential group home. As a result of a class action suit against the State of Tennessee, all residential group homes licensed by the State of Tennessee, are limited to 8 residents.

HFHWC was fully incorporated as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International on December 5, 1992. We have built more than 100 homes in Williamson County and continue to build 8 to 10 new homes per year.

Our Thrift Store provides opportunities beyond cloistered environments such as group homes or sheltered workshops. Our Thrift Store and Our Fulfillment Center assists in mainstreaming special needs young adults. By providing the opportunity to have the young adults work and interact in a warm and friendly public setting, the program is having a tremendous impact in improving self-image and boosting confidence. Most importantly, these businesses provide real hope for an independent life beyond an educational setting. In addition, parents are thrilled with the results, and the promise of a stable future for their special child.
